- Mention Handshake when you meet with students (advising, office hours, etc)
- Encourage students to activate and complete their profiles
- Put Handshake/Career Services in your syllabus as a listed resource. Example:
- Career Resources: Visit your college’s career center for career planning, job search resources, resume review, interview preparation, networking help, grad school planning, and more. career.umn.edu/career-offices
- Handshake is the UMN’s official job/internship portal. Once you fill in your career interests, you’ll get personalized recommendations for jobs and events.
- Activate your account at umn.joinhandshake.com
- Download the Handshake app from Apple or Google Play so you get notifications on the latest jobs, events, and employers

- Require students to log in and complete their profile as an assignment for class

Each Twin Cities college and system campus has their own career office with dedicated employer relations staff. We encourage you to share their contact information broadly with your employer contacts! Find your college’s contact here (z.umn.edu/employercontacts). You are also welcome to share information about Handshake directly.
